28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them. Luke 24:28-29
Brother Kenneth Hagin said the Lord once told him, “I bless my children as much as I am able to...” Selah.
“But they constrained Him.” Here on the Emmaus Road, Jesus invited them to go farther but they kept to their original plan and turned in for evening. Jesus would have gone farther, but they constrained Him. Not one for sour grapes, Jesus agreed to eat dinner with them. He blessed them as much as He was able. And they were blessed! But what did they miss?
They were blessed with Plan B.
But what did they miss? He would have gone farther. Oldtimers talked about pressing in.
What do we miss when we get off the road too soon? Maybe there is something to pressing in.
